Build a Cowboy #1 (Rough Stock)
The Build A Cowboy (B.A.C.) program is designed to allow boys who do not feel ready for the high school horses & bulls the ability to gain confidence on slower stock. This program will be limited to the 9th and 10th grade student only. The B. A.C. option is not a NHSRA sponsored or sanctioned program. Therefore, year-end points earned in this program will not be counted toward the National Finals.
Build A Cowboy contestant will be able to earn points on the state level and awards that will be determined at a later date. The contestant will also be eligible for a “pay out” at the rodeo following our current payout procedures.
If a contestant starts in the B.A.C program and decides to move up and compete on the main high school stock, that contestant will forfeit points earned in the B.A.C program. If a contestant starts on the main high school stock and decides to move down and compete in the B.A.C. program, that contestant will forfeit points earned on the main high school stock.
Any question about the program can be addressed with the event Director, John Middagh- 915-490-0808, Middaghrodeo@yahoo.com
Build a Cowboy #1 (Timed Event)
Boys in the Jr High School Division will be permitted to enter both the Breakaway and Tie Down roping at the same rodeo. The points earned towards all-around and year end totals will only count towards ONE OF THE 2 EVENTS and must be chosen on the entry form for that rodeo. All points earned in either selected event will stay with the contestant all year.
You will find an option for “jackpot” or “points” on the entry form. If “jackpot” is selected for that rodeo, the contestant is ONLY eligible for prizes and money. Points will not count. If “points” is selected, the contestant is eligible for prizes, money, and year end points.
