UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED IN THE INFO FOR A SPECIFIC SHOOT, all shoots are two rounds. Please make sure to mark your entry forms for the shoot(s) you want to enter. Please also make sure to include the correct amount for your entry fees. If you are only shooting one (.22 or Trap)​ and are NOT entering a rodeo event, your total entry fees are $70. If you are entering both shoots and are NOT entering a rodeo event, your total entry fees are $120. If you ARE entering rodeo events in addition to shooting, your shooting fees are $50 for one shoot or $100 for both shoots. The awards and administration fees are included on your rodeo event entry form, so they do not need to be paid again with your shooting entries. If you have any questions, please call either of the directors or the rodeo secretary prior to sending in your entries. ​



2017-2018 Shooting Schedule for Trap & .22 Long Rifle


Please be aware that shooting entries are due the same day as rodeo entries for each rodeo.

Friday Sept. 15th – Payson
** Mandatory Shooting Meeting for BOTH High School & Jr. High Trap & .22 Shooter at the Payson Rodeo Grounds, 11:00AM behind the bleachers on the northeast side of the arena. Download Info

We'll head to the ranges directly following the meeting at the rodeo grounds. If you're shooting both, please come to the trap range first and we'll get you in the first rounds. Once you're through with trap, you'll go directly to the .22 range and shoot there

Trap: Bird Busters of Payson Trap & Skeet Club - located just south of Matlock Gas (enter at Mile Post 240) on Hwy 87 in Rye, AZ
** All contestants please bring enough ammo for 3 rounds. It is possible that we add a buckle round to this shoot. **

.22 Long Rifle: Jim Jones Shooting Range - located off of Hwy 87 on Forest Service Road 208

Sunday Oct 22 – Wickenburg

Mandatory Safety Briefing presented by Wickenburg Sportsman’s Club before each event. Participants must fill out waiver and send with registration. Contestants must read the range rules.
High School- .22 rifle starts at 10am. Trap starts at 1pm.
Jr. High School- .22 rifle starts after the high .22 rifle is complete.

NO SHOOT scheduled at this time

Friday Jan. 5th - Casa Grande
Trap and .22 will both start at 1:00 p.m. If you’re shooting both .22 and Trap, please go to the trap range first. As soon as you’re done with trap, you’ll head over to the .22 range to shoot there.

.22 Long Rifle: Casa Grande Mountain Park – Elsy Pearson Shooting Range - Address: 2766 S. Isom Road, Casa Grande, AZ

Friday Feb 9 - Safford

Friday April 20th ~ Willcox

Both shoots will start at 1:00 p.m. If you’re shooting both .22 and Trap, please go to the trap range first. As soon as you’re done with trap, you’ll head over to the .22 range to shoot there.

John Hart Private Shooting Range (.22 and Trap are at the same location)
Directions from Quail Park (rodeo grounds):
Turn Right onto Ft Grant Road, go over I-10. It will turn into Rex Allen Drive. Stay on Rex Allen until it dead ends at Haskell Ave.
Turn Right on Haskell Ave, go to the stoplight, Maley St/Hwy 186.
Turn Left on Maley St/Hwy 186, go over rail road tracks, travel East about 5 ½ miles to Kansas Settlement Road.
Turn Right (South) on Kansas Settlement Road for 3 miles to Moser Road (dirt).
Turn Left (East) on Moser Road for 1 ¾ mile.
At 1 mile on Moser, stay to the left, go through the wash, continue for another ¾ of a mile to the range.

**The closest address is 4290 East Moser Road, Willcox, AZ 85643, Mapquest is a little off on the correct location, but the range is about another ½ mile east of that. Google is off even further off, it is about another ¾ of a mile to the range with it.

May ~ Prescott (Jr. High State Finals)

TRAP: Friday, May 4th: Prescott Trap and Skeet Club
Trap will shoot at 1:00 p.m.
Directions: 10800 E. Hwy 69, Dewey, AZ 86327
1 mile West of the Fain Road-Hwy 69 intersection (Maverik), on the North side of Highway 69.

.22 Long Rifle: Saturday, May 7: Chino Valley Shooting Facility
High School will shoot at 9:30 a.m.
Jr. High will shoot (3 rounds – Finals) one hour after the end of the rodeo (which should be over around noon). The range is about 45 minutes away from the rodeo grounds, so please go straight there when the rodeo is over. If you are only shooting, and not doing any rodeo events, please be at the range by 1:00 p.m. If you have any questions, or difficulty finding the range, please call Jerrad or Karen.
Directions: 3926 Shooting Range Road, Chino Valley, AZ 86323
Take Highway 89 to Perkinsville Road and turn East (right). Perkinsville Road is at a roundabout. Go 3 miles East on Perkinsville Road to Santa Fe Trail and turn left.

Wednesday, June 6th - Payson ~ High School Only ~ State Finals

**Please note that at State Finals we will shoot 3 rounds. Be prepared with enough ammo for 3 rounds. Please remember that you will need to pay for 3 rounds when you enter, as well. So, instead of the usual $50 total per shoot, it’s $75 per shoot. If you have any questions, please call your director or the Rodeo Secretary BEFORE sending in your entries.
Both shoots will start at 12:00 noon. If you’re shooting both .22 and Trap, please go to the trap range first. As soon as you’re done with trap, you’ll head over to the .22 range to shoot there.

Brownells/NRA National Youth Shooting Sports Ambassador Program


Nomination Criteria

In addition to rewarding our most deserving youth shooters, we are organizing youth ambassadors who will be in the public eye and can contribute to a positive image of the shooting sports and of your respective youth organization.  With that in mind, please consider the following guidelines:

  1. Participated in youth shooting sports to the extent that they can provide guidance and answer questions from other youth interested in the sport.
  2. Knowledgeable participant in your organization’s shooting sports program.
  3. Successfully spoken at public meetings and feels comfortable in front of an audience.
  4. 16-21 years old during their year of service.
  5. Able to travel alone on air transportation for chaperoned trips (we will make every effort to minimize school and holiday conflicts). 
  6. Available for quarterly conference calls from their hometown.
  7. Sign a release for public distribution of their photograph and biography for magazine and promotional materials.
  8. Able to write articles for their youth organizations publication.
